Ronald Schowengerdt, BS, DDS opened his practice in Nevada, MO in 1991, previously practicing in Omaha, NE from 1980-1991. He is a graduate of University of Missouri, Kansas City, where he received his BS in biology and chemistry in 1975 and his DDS in 1980.
While practicing in Omaha, Dr. Schowengerdt served as a staff member at the Bergan Mercy Hospital Department of Surgery and University of Nebraska Medical Center. He was also a part-time clinical instructor at Belleview Community College, where he taught anatomy and physiology, and the University of Nebraska Medical Center, where he taught oral pathology, radiology and clinical diagnosis for the Faculty Adult General Dentistry residency program. Dr. Schowengerdt is currently a staff member of Bates County Memorial. When he visits these local hospitals, Dr. Schowengerdt always makes a point to visit patients with disabilities and from local nursing or group homes.
Dr. Schowengerdt has been married for 39 years to Linda, his office manager, and hygienist. They have two daughters: Amanda, 36, and Emily, 33. Dr. Schowengerdt and Linda both grew up in Butler, MO. He is the son of the late A.B. and Dorothy Schowengerdt and Linda is the daughter of the late George and Marie Jennings. Dr. Schowengerdt is a Deacon at the First Baptist Church of Nevada. He has been a member of the Nevada Lions Club for 27 years, is an avid supporter and sponsor of Ducks Unlimited, and loves attending car shows. He has served as the president of the Vernon County Chamber of Commerce, which he has been a member for now over 27 years.
Dr. Schowengerdt is very involved in our community. Each year, he donates thousands of dollars to charity and also donates his time and talents through Donated Dental Services. Through Donated Dental Services, he helps people with disabilities receive the dental care they need when they can’t afford it.
